Info: Joncia Gardens has been evolving over the last 13 years. It receives lots of loving care daily, so that it can be either visited by garden groups, or host weddings and memorials at any time of the year. We have had people picnic here, as they can spend quite a few hours enjoying and wandering around the different areas of the garden. Guests are most welcome to meander around whilst the bride and groom are having there photos taken.
This garden opens to the public with the Australian Open Garden Scheme on the 2nd and 3rd of September, starting at 9.00am to 4.30pm. Why not take the oportunity to come and have a look. We provide food all day, so you can sit in comfort and enjoy morning or afternoon tea or have your lunch, and then go for a leisured stroll. There will be plenty of plants for sale also.
Every part of the garden is wheel chair accessible as well.
There is a lovely red japanese bridge, which is great to have photos on whether it be a wedding group or family photos. Walk across the monet style bridge and you are in an English setting with a cottage feel, with plantings of perennials, annuals, roses, hollyhocks, daisies and lots more.
The rainforest provides a cool retreat in summer, under the canopy of the palms, but we have a dinosaur in our rainforest, so keep an eye out.
If a vegetable patch is more to your liking, we have one just for you. In this we grow spinach, cabbages, cauliflowers, silverbeet, snowpeas, broccoli, luscious strawberries which you can sample, Pawpaws.
Beside this we have the orchid where the lemons, oranges, nectarines, grapefruit, tropical apples, persimmon, figs, mandarine, jabotacabas all grow. These are all underplanted with annuals for a colourful display. Here is where the little cottage is nestled, with its own little garden. Jonquils grow happily in there along with the roses. Or course, we had to have the old "out back" toilet with the redback on the toilet seat, to go with the little cottage.
White Iceberg roses are planted on masse with the red carpet rose border. This area has hosted many weddings, and is very delightful. No need to park on the street, as we have plenty of parking available inside for your convenience and we also have coach tours.
